The University of Sunderland Aikido Clubc

 

The University Aikido Club has been established for over 18 years and is still one of the core martial arts at the University. 

Though not a competitive martial art, it has through the years consistently enabled students to develop personally.

(The hardest competition is with ones self).

Also to achieve a variety of grades up to and including black belt. 

 

Instructor:  Sensei:  Peter Seth - 4th Dan.

Over 49 years martial arts experience (Over 30 Aikido).  Experience in a variety of other martial arts, both mainstream and eclectic. 

Accredited Senior Coach and Examiner - (British Aikido Board Sports Council Affiliated).

Conflict management/resolution trainer.

Student eStreetsafef trainer.

Founder/organiser of eThe Sunderland International Festival of Martial Artsf.  Raising funds for Cancer Research UK.

 

The club has connections with many different martial arts both locally and nationally and invites instructors from these arts to give seminars. 

This allows students to experience a range of arts which if appropriate can then be incorporated into their repertoire.

 

The club also has a very active social life (for those so inclined)!
